Learning Reflection

                 This course , teacher taught many strategies for reading. she taught finding main idea for the text, finding head title , finding head word and others. She taught using Cambridge dictionary online and pronounced for our. She sometimes read and translated for our understood. Sometimes I don't understand the text on lesson because it had a many difficult word. I don't like this course because it many content and learning many time make me bored. And she set a difficult examination questions a new text. This course is the last course which learn with you. Teacher is a good teacher. You is a good model teacher for me like be on time , kind and politely.

Problem and Solution : week 16

Problem and Solution

            
            Today I learned problem and solution lesson again. Today was the last hour class and learned a few hour. First of all teacher answered my homework and highlight discourse marker in the text. The text about "machine gun" . I created the title was " Solution to Machine Gun Overheat and Malfunction ". Main idea in this text is machine gun overheat and malfunction can been addresses in a number of ways. And the last thing to did in this text was created graphic organizer , etc. And the last she answered the last text.

 Problem and Solution

What did you learn today ?
       Today I learned about problem and solution . it is a pattern of organization where information in a passage is expressed as a dilemma or concerning issue and something that was, cab be, or should be done to remedy this issue. The problem and solution text may seem like it would be easy to recognize, but it can be moderately difficult to identify because it is frequently confused with the cause and effect pattern of organization. Then teacher assigned to read the text and highlight discourse markers and problem and solution.

What did you find easy ?
     I don't know vocabulary about discourse markers.

What did you find difficult ?
     Vocabulary about discourse markers.

What did you solve the problem ?
    I will practice and attention in the classroom.


Definition and Classification : week 14


Definition and Classification

 What did you learn today ?
             Today I learned about definition and classification again. Teacher assigned to practice again and made diagram about the topic. When I read what is anthropology , main idea is anthropology the study of man is divide to two types which are physical anthropology and cultural anthropology. Then I made complete the diagram.

What did you find easy ?
          Not easy.

What did you find difficult ?
         Content was difficult.

What did you solve the problem ?
         I will try attention in the classroom and practice.

What did you learned today ?
          
           Today I learned about definition and classification , it divide things in to groups according to there types. In textbooks, you are sure to meet unfamiliar technical words and their definitions. You will also find that writers use classification to divide general concepts into a number of different types. Identifying and understanding texts that contain definition and classification will help your academic reading.
           Then teacher assigned to found the discourse markers and highlight it.

What did you find easy ?
          Not easy.

What did you find difficult ?
         The discourse markers are intimate.

What did you learn today

           Today I learned about exemplification, it provides solid support and strong evidence to prove the writer's main statement. Appropriate examples also create interest in a writing assignment. Transition words and phrases such as for example, for instance, such as, like, in particular, in fact signal to the reader that additional specific details follow.
           Then teacher assigned to practice about College Students' Pressures topic and Fun Things to do in Great Falls and found discourse markers in the text. Discourse markers help me to more easy understand in the text, so must to find it in the text. Then she assigned to read hazards in the home and how to eliminate them. The main idea is many hazards in the home that jeopardize a child's safety can be easily eliminated. The advantage of this text is to know how to safety a child and careful them.

What did you find easy ?
        The discourse markers help me to understand in the text.

What did you find difficult ?
        Some word is difficult and never use it.

What did you solve the problem ?

Cause and Effect : week 11



       Cause and Effect      
      
         Today I learned about cause and effect again. Teacher answered my homework about the effect of stress topic. Too much stress results in a physical, emotional, and mental health problems. After she finish answer homework electricity switch off. After that I and friends have a break time around 1 hour.
Then she opened the video of my friends about how to make food. It was very funny.

Cause and Effect : week 10


     Cause and Effect



           Today I learned about cause and effect. Cause and effect is use to show hoe the facts or concepts result due to other facts, events or concepts. Words that signal this type of text structure are because , since , if....then , as a result of , thus , and hence. A graphic organizer may be used to represent the relationship between the causes and effects. Then teacher assigned to found causes and effect about global warming.

Cause : -Hot waves from the sun.
            - People cut many trees and doesn't plant them.
            - There is greenhouse gas over standard quantity.
            - Carbon dioxide emission from fossil fuel burning power plans.

Effect : - Dangerous heat waves are increasing in frequency.

            - Sea level rise in accelerating
            - People have risk to have skin cancer.
            - The ice melts.
            - The weather has changed.
             - Natural disaster.

And the last time she opened the video about how to make food of my friend. It very funny.



What did you find easy ?
 Ans. It is not easy to me.

What did you find difficult ?
Ans. In this lesson it has many difficult word and I lose time to find word meaning.

What did you solve the problem ?
Ans. I need to remember many vocabulary and pay attention in the class.


Comparison and Contrast : week 9


        Today I learned about comparison and contrast again. Today teacher answered my homework this lesson. In men and women topic , they are use different language to handle conflict. Main idea about text two is there are similarities and differences between Hurricane Andrew and Hurricane Katrina. The same of both is inflict massive destruction and damage.

Ans. It's not easy to me.

What did you find difficult ?
Ans. It has many difficult word.

What did you solve the problem ?
Ans. I need to remember vocabulary and pay attention in the class.

Comparison and Contrast



            Today I took the examination test all four lesson about recount, narrative, descriptive and procedure. I can did it , it rather not difficult and I think certain pass.

What did you learn today ?
                
                 Today I learnt a comparison and contrast. A comparison-contrast pattern presents similarities (comparison) between two or more things, or both similarities and differences. Authors use it when they want to explain or describe how to or more things are alike or different. They use it when they want to present opposing sides of an issue (such as the issue of gun control or capital punishment). Authors often use the following markers to point out comparison and contrast :
                To show comparison or similarities like both, same, similar, to resemble, similarity, in common, identical, similarly, in the same way, in the same manner etc.
                To show contrast or differences like to differ, to distinguish, to contrast, to oppose, difference, while, whereas, in contrast, yet, unlike etc.

               I think it has not easy.

What did you find difficult ?


               I think content rather difficult because it must to read more.

  In this lesson it has many difficult word make me worry when test.

What did you learn today ? 

                    Today I learnt about a procedure or instruction lesson. Instruction belong to a group of text-type concerned with procedure, which tell us how something is accomplished through a sequence of actions or steps. It is a very important genre in our society because it enables us to get thing done, and it is equally common in the oral and written mode. The purpose of the lesson is to tell the reader how to do or make something. These text are usually written in the present tense.
                   Then teacher assigned our to did the exercise about the sequence of action. After already finished the exercise she was reply to our.

What did you find easy ?
                  
                    I think the procedure about recipe is easy.

What did you find difficult ?

                    I think vocabulary some words are difficult.

What did you solve the problem ?
                    
                    I need to pay attention in the classroom  more and note after finish class.

              Today I learnt about descriptive again. Teacher was answer for my homework the last time. And she was add describe about Budapest and Prague. After finish answer the question, she assigned our to underline the adjectives that describe Bert and Doris in the text 4. Then she assigned work of group to describe an appearance and character people. My group chose to describe  Mr.Bean.

What did you find easy ?

 I think describe an appearance people easy than describe character people.

What did you find difficult ?
In the text about Budapest and Prague, it has many difficult words.

 What did you solve the problem ?
I need to pay attention in the class.

Descriptive : Week 5


          Descriptive

       

 I took an exam about recount and narrative. It was very difficult for me. I thought my point was a few. After finish test teacher taught about descriptive lesson. Descriptive text is a text which say what a person, a thing or a place is like. She taught describe an ants and komodo dragon on her  power point. I thought the diagram help me for easy answer.


What did you find easy ?     

       I think this lesson is easy for me because it has easy words and sentences for understand.

What did you find difficult ?    

       Not saw the difficult yet.

What did you solve the problem ?   

       I need to pay attention more and more in the classroom.

Narrative : Secret : Week 4


Narrative

                The beginning hours teacher assigned me to discussed of Kylie's secret story with my partner. My summary about Kylie is she feels left out from her mother and Philip's activities. Philip is her step-father. She becomes interest in the chickens in the yard. Some how her secret helps her to feel lonely. She finds out where others are being laid by an unhealthy-looking hen. The secret bigger every day. Later, she finds raggedy hen, another egg and shares her secret with hen. Her step father tells her not to open the lid of the bore well but she doesn't. She look on her photo album and misses her father and wants to live with him. From the story I feel sorry for Kylie because she lonely and left out from her mother and Philip. I dislike Kylie's mother because she didn't take care of her daughter and love new husband than her. I dislike for Philip cause he hit Kylie. I get point from the story is the problem associated with contemporary family life is separate family cause children have a problem and absence warm.

            I think in this short story to have a rather mysterious.

The eggs - The hen sat on her egs for three weeks. Kylie sat on the fence and gloated and did not know what was happening her side of the fence.

The well - It is thirty-six-feet deep and very dangerous.

The photo - People in the photo ever smile too, but in this it does not.

Kylie's cutting of the photo - She does not want to live in the photo.

Narratives : Week 3



Narrative

         Today I learnt about narrative lesson. The narrative usually begins with an orientation, where the writer attempts to sketch in or create the "possible world" of this particular story. The reader is introduced to the main characters and possibly some minor characters. After she assigned read the part one of Secret topic. It is about Kylie's egg secret. Kylie just to move to the new house and found an egg in the yard and kept it as her secret. Kylie feels left out her mother abd philip's activities. She becomes interested in the chickens in the yard. Some how her secret helps her to feel less lonely. She finds a second egg and then finds out where others are being laid by an unhealthy-looking hen. The secret bacame bigger every day.

Factual Recount : Week 2


           


Recount

              Today I was learnt about factual recount. Teacher gave a picture and read the following news report and drawn the diagram. On the news advised five Vietnamese nationals were arrested for stealing cash from crowded shops in popular tourist areas in Chang Mai's Muang district, provincial police chief Pol Maj-General Montri Sambunnanont said yesterday. After finished I did an exercise 8 item. After that I read "My Grandpa's Funeral in Toraja" the topic. It was about funeral ceremony. Grandpa's body was kept in a series of houses arranged in a circular row around an open field called tongkonan. Tongkonan is the traditional ancestral house, or rumah adat of the Torajan people in south Sulawesi, Indonesia. The ceremony is the same in Thailand's tradition.

A Discourse Approach in Reading : week 1 : Recount


Recount



  Today was the first for learnt a Discourse Approach in Reading and met Dr.Usa for semester. I was really excited. Today we learnt at Faculty and Humanities and Social Science building where was the new building. The first she explained about course outline and educated for learner. I learnt 10 lesson for this course. After she finish explained. She taught a recount lesson. In a recount we reconstruct past experience. A recount was the unfold of a sequence of events over time. She assigned to analyse the text and separated language features like a when? , who? , what? , where? and etc. Analyse the texts including orientation, events and reorientation. In this period I got the new words so much. I thought a difficult for me was word what I did not meaning.
